The first game of the School League saw Avondale Community College facing Glenart College. The match started with really high tempo with ACC pressing really high and putting the away team under pressure.
All the effort was repaid when Caden Kinsella converted a choral action into the first goal of the game. The home team was not satisfied and pushed hard to double the score. But after a few missed chances the Glenart team equalised taking the really strong Avondale defence by surprise.
At this point the match was really tight and the occasions to take the lead were equally shared by the two teams. To breech the level ACC needed to be more clinical in the box and looking for the shot a bit more.
After 15/20 minutes in the second half, first Mark O'Reilly and then Sonny McHale secured the result with a round 3-1 that confirmed the ACC capability to play the ball and control the match.
At ten minutes to the end, a penalty was awarded for the Glenart College team and was converted into what was the final score: 3-2.
Well done boys and now ready for another match to take the lead of the group table!
