U14 Boys' Football
The U14 Boys' Football team will meet Blessington on Thursday 10th November in Avondale Community College. This is the first game of the Leinster Football Championship. Best of luck to all involved.
U16 Girls' Basketball
After many weeks of training, the U16 Girls' basketball team are ready for their first match. The team will play St David's secondary school after the mid-term. Good luck to the girls.
Cross-Country Success!
There were great successes for Avondale Community College at the Cross- Country in Avondale House on Thursday 27th October. There were a number of individual winners on the day. Well done to Todd Byrne, Liam Kinsella, Harrison Penn, David Byrne, Stephen McElligott-Ryan and Katie Conroy. As well as this our Second Year Boys' team were triumphant, with Liam Kinsella, David Byrne, Harrison Penn and Stephen McElligott-Ryan taking first place in the Team Section. Our Senior Boys also proved successful in the team section. Jamie Byrne, Emmet Byrne, Jamie Pender and Callum Pursey picked up a team prize on the day. The next round of the Wicklow League will be held in St. Gerard's School in Bray in November. Well done to all students involved!
3rd Year Parent- Teacher Meeting
The 3rd Parent-Teacher meeting will take place on Thursday 10th November from 3.45 p.m. to 6.15 p.m.
Careers Evening
Avondale Community College would like to thank all speakers and college representatives who took part in our recent careers evening. The evening was a great success, with almost 250 parents and students in attendance. Thanks also to the Transition Year students and staff members, who helped Ms. Lillis organise the event.
Rotary Club Youth Leadership Competition
Congratulations to Niamh Brown, Rebecca Cullen and Sean Geoghegan who took part in the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, which is one of the most successful programmes run by Rotary clubs around the world. Sean emerged as the winner and now goes on to the regional competition. Well done to all and best of luck to Sean!
Mid-term Break
The management of Avondale Community College would like to wish all students and staff an enjoyable mid- term break. The School re-opens on Monday 7th November 2011.
