Student Council Elections
Congratulations to our newly elected Student Council members who represent each year group within the school. The student council is an important asset school life. This year’s student council elections were efficiently organised by 3 Pine, as part of their CSPE Action Project.

Comhairle na nOg
On Thursday 21 October six senior students from the school will take part in the Comhairle na nOg, Youth Consultation Day. Students from surrounding schools will meet in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh, to discuss various youth related issues. This is an excellent opportunity for our senior students to enhance their public speaking skills.

Sports News
Our U16 and U19 Girls Basketball Teams will play St. Mary’s College Arklow, in the first round of the league this week. Our First Year Boys Football team will also take on Abbey Community College and the Senior Boys Football Team will play Colaiste Raithin in the coming week. Best wishes to all.

Trans News
From attending seminars in UCD to Friday’s Kick Boxing sessions, our Transition Year students have been keeping busy. They undertook the first of the ECDL modules. This momentum is set to continue, as this week marked the beginning of their work experience. Many thanks to all employers, who have given our students the opportunity to experience the world of work. Best wishes to all.

Mid-term Break
As the first term of school is coming to an end, the management and staff of Avondale Community College would like to wish all students and their families an enjoyable mid- term break. Many thanks for your assistance in what has been a busy first term.
The School re-opens on Monday 1 November.
