Avondale Community College
Practical Examinations
This week has been a very busy week for our Junior and Senior Exam
students, while some have been cooking tasty dishes in their
Home-Economics practicals others have been busy conversing with an
examiner ‘as gaeilge’ as part of their Irish Orals. Practical
examinations in Music and French will continue this week. Best wishes

LCVP Exam
LCVP students have been busy all year preparing their portfolios which
catalogues their preparation for the world of work and their
enterprise endeavours. Having completed this section of the course,
students are now busy preparing for their LCVP examinations which will
take place on Wednesday 4 May. Best wishes to all.
Sports News
Ist Year Football
Our First Year boys enjoyed an excellent victory this week against St
Kevin’s Community College, Dunlavin in the Junior A semi-final. They
will now play Colaiste Bhride, Carnew in the final. As this is our
second time reaching this stage of the competition this is a great
occasion for the school.
Junior Boys Football
Our Junior Boys Football team enjoyed another great win over Colaiste
Chraobh Abhann, Kilcoole in the quarter final. They will play De La
Salle College, Wicklow in the final. Best wishes to all.
Athletics
Track and field athletics competitions will take place in Ringsend
this week. 50 students from Avondale Community College will
participate in this event. Best wishes to all.
Easter Holidays
The management and staff of Avondale Community College would like to
wish all parents, guardians and students an enjoyable break over the
Easter Holidays. A reminder to all that the school will close for
Easter Break on Friday 15 April and will re-open for all students on
Tuesday 3 May. The school will however be open for Junior and Senior
Exam students during the second week of holidays.
