Rotary Club All-Ireland Finalist
On Saturday January 28th our budding Fifth Year Chef Craig Curley put his culinary skills against competitors from a number of counties south of Dublin. Regina Mundi School in Cork City played host to the Rotary Club All-Ireland Young Chef Cookery 2012 Semi-final competition. Following two hours of cooking Craig's dishes were examined by two judges, including a top restaurateur from Cork. With three places in the All-Ireland final up for grabs, the tension was palpable. His dedication and tenacity paid off as he was selected as one of finalists and was singled out for particular praise by the judges. Craig now progresses to the All-Ireland final which will take place in Dublin at the end of February. We wish him the best of luck in his preparation for this prestigious competition.
Transition Year Work Experience
Transition Year students will embark on their second phase of work experience during the week of 6th February. This is an excellent opportunity to prepare our students for the world of work. A sincere thank you to all employers who are providing placements for the students.
Hamlet Theatre Trip
Sixth Year students experienced a production of Hamlet in The Samuel Beckett Theatre in Trinity College, Dublin on Tuesday 31st January. This production by The Cyclone Repertory Company was an extremely engaging, educational and entertaining version of the play.
Pre-Leaving and Junior Certificate Exams
Third and Sixth Year students are currently sitting their Pre-Leaving and Junior Certificate Exams. Best wishes to all students involved.
