Last month Dr Patrick Kavanagh visited the school and gave a talk to students on the James Webb Space Telescope, which was the biggest telescope ever created and launched into space on Christmas Day last year. Dr Patrick Kavanagh was one of the Irish Scientists who worked on and helped to construct it. The James Webb Space Telescope is an International Collaboration between Nasa, The European Space Agency (E.S.A.) and the Canadian Space Agency. It is the largest and most expensive object ever flown and is 100 times more powerful than the Hubble Space Telescope. Many thanks to Ms D Doyle for organising this most informative event.
